Sarah Jamieson is what you would call a freelance do’gooder, a social crusader, a runner-of-a-muk of all things bucket-list and philanthropically inclined. 10 years ago, Sarah Jamieson had an idea to “RUN4ACAUSE,”what started as an opportunity to speak up and advocate for at risk youth and marginalized populations who struggle each day with significant life challenges; turned into a full scale, life sized passion project to raise 1 million dollars before the age of 35. At the age of 33, Sarah has raised $808,000.00 for over 45 organizations spanning the globe.
RUN4ACAUSE is simple – One part race – One part opportunity…and…well… one part amalgamation of middle of the pack athlete and SUPERHERO. In 2011 Sarah spoke at TEDxKIDS@BC; which featured the power of tapping into our human potential by embracing our inner Superhero. Sarah challenged her global community to embrace their own Superhero; their own fearless tenacity to bring about change in their community. Last year, Sarah “ran” 4 ultra marathons; organized around salon meet-ups. On International Women’s Day 2011, Sarah included a 439 day commitment to walk 6km per day with a 20lbs pack; documenting the power behind the world’s women and girls. Sarah holds salons, meet-up seminars, school and corporate lunch and learns combined with her un-orthodox races and challenges anyone who will listen to join her and “RUN4ACAUSE.”
Sarah’s talk will be about “Our personal pursuit for human potential – harnessing our inner Superhero.”
