This year at FEAT Canada, we got up close and personal with the famous unicyclist Kris Holm. If you think trekking across the globe is a tough enough challenge to accomplish, imagine doing it on a unicycle including traversing the most remote regions of the world as well as one of the world’s greatest wonders, the Great Wall of China.

Kris Holm is the first rider to bring mountain unicycling to mainstream audience through film, television and magazine features. He has already appeared in more than 200 international media features, which include numerous television segments, 18 movies that have been screened at festivals in more than 30 countries, including 5 films on the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.

His own brand, Kris Holm Unicycles, is a small corporation which provides the best unicycles to a small number of hardcore riders. KHU currently ships worldwide since it already expanded its network to more than 15 countries.

Kris Holm is very innovative in terms of having the best modern unicycling equipment.  His main interest lies in the exploration of the mountains of North and South America, in crossing the remote regions of Bhutan and Mongolia, and in going through steep tracks of his homeland in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Furthermore, he is an ambassador for the environmental business alliance called 1% For The Planet, which aims for the simplicity of unicycling and advocacy for sustainability.

In 2012, what he has gained through years of riding, Kris was able to publish in a book entitled The Essential Guide to Mountain and Trials Unicycling. The book contains instructions, a variety of unicycling trials and mountain unicycling riding styles plus more than 250 colour photographs of riders from all over the globe.

Right now, aside from managing his own company, he also works for an engineering consulting firm as a geoscientist specializing in geohazard and risk assessment.
